Some fixed point theorems for generalized contractive mappings in complete metric spaces

We introduce new concepts of generalized contractive and generalized alpha-Suzuki type contractive mappings. Then, we obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of a fixed point of these classes of mappings on complete metric spaces and b-complete b-metric spaces. Our results extend the theorems of Ciric, Chatterjea, Kannan and Reich.

Fixed Points for Weakα-ψ-Contractions in Partial Metric Spaces

Recently, Samet et al. (2012) introduced the notion ofα-ψ-contractive mappings and established some fixed point results in the setting of complete metric spaces. In this paper, we introduce the notion of weakα-ψ-contractive mappings and give fixed point results for this class of mappings in the setting of partial metric spaces. Also, we deduce fixed point results in ordered partial metric spaces. Our results extend and generalize the results of Samet et al.

A homotopy fixed point theorem in 0-complete partial metric space

We generalize a result of Feng and Liu, on multi-valued contractive mappings, for studying the relationship between fixed point sets and homotopy fixed point sets. The presented results are discussed in the generalized setting of 0-complete partial metric spaces. An example and a nonlinear alternative of Leray-Schauder type are given to support our theorems.

An intrinsic characterization of 2+2 warped spacetimes

We give several equivalent conditions that characterize the 2+2 warped spacetimes: imposing the existence of a Killing-Yano tensor $A$ subject to complementary algebraic restrictions; in terms of the projector $v$ (or of the canonical 2-form $U$) associated with the 2-planes of the warped product. These planes are principal planes of the Weyl and/or Ricci tensors and can be explicitly obtained from them. Therefore, we obtain the necessary and sufficient (local) conditions for a metric tensor to be a 2+2 warped product. These conditions exclusively involve explicit concomitants of the Riemann tensor. The present study introduce the notion of (ψ, ϕ)-Contractive maps in weak non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces to derive a common fixed point theorem which complements and extends the main theorems of [C.Vetro, Fixed points in weak non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces, Fuzzy Sets and System, 162 (2011), 84-90] and [D.Mihet, Fuzzy ψ-contractive mappings in non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces, Fuzzy Sets and System, 159 (2008) 739-744]. We support our result by establishing an application to product spaces.

Analytic Properties of Quasiconformal Mappings Between Metric Spaces

We survey recent developments in the theory of quasiconformal mappings between metric spaces. We examine the various weak definitions of quasiconformality, and give conditions under which they are all equal and imply the strong classical properties of quasiconformal mappings in Euclidean spaces. We also discuss function spaces preserved by quasiconformal mappings.
